Maddie M. White
If you could text one of your characters and not have them leave you on read, who would it be and why? Probably Rachel. She’s honest and would probably tell me to get my butt in gear and write something.
What is your absolute favorite genre to write about and why? Young adult! When I was that age, it seemed like everything was the most important thing. Everything is so intense. It makes it really fun to write and a lot of people can relate to it.
Do you have a favorite piece or work that you’ve written so far? Can you share? I have a soft spot for my first book, :08 SECONDS. It’s not out yet, but I can say that it’s a YA romance with swoon-worthy singing cowboys and strong female characters.
What do you do when faced with writer’s block? I take time away from it. I don’t force it. Most of the time I’ll switch to reading until inspiration hits me again.
Why do you write? I’ve dreamed about it for as long as I can remember. I write because I have a story to tell.
When you set out to write, do you create a type of schedule to help you and keep you on track? What type? Honestly, I’m still trying to figure this out…so once I do, I’ll get back to you. Ha!
What has kept you inspired to continue writing? After writing my first book, I was hooked. No going back. I love the feeling of creating a whole new world with lovable characters.
Do you believe that in order for a writer to become a successful writer that it is worthwhile to write everyday or that it is okay to set their own standards? I think each writer has to find their own rhythm.
Within the next 5 years, where do you see yourself within your writing journey? Hopefully, on a few best-seller lists, many times published and converting one of my books into a movie.
Do you have an inspirational author? Why are they your inspiration? Jennifer Niven. She told a story about mental health that made me ant to share my own story and help others.
Would you like to share something about yourself that no other reader knows about? Hmm…I ask this question on my blog but I’ve never realized how hard it is to answer. I have SO many ideas for books in the notes on my phone, but I’ve only ever finished one manuscript. (So far)
